We stongly believe in the value of sports for our young athletes. We encourage children to try any and all sports. We hope that those who try lacrosse will love it and stick with it as we did..and currently do.

Thomas Harris, Co-Owner
A New Canaan, CT native, Tom is a graduate of New Canaan High School and The University of Hartford. At NCHS Tom was an all state and all conference attackmen. He helped lead his team to a Conference and State Championship as the leader in points and assists. His team finished undeafted and 9 in the country according to lacrosse magazine. Tom was a two time team captain for the Division 1 University of Hartford lacrosse team. He is the founder of Top Left Lacrosse and part of the LOWLAX coaching staff.
Jeff Mayer, Co-Owner
A Sykesville, MD native, Jeff attended Liberty High School and Wittenberg University. He received his B.A. in Business Administration. Jeff remains the leading goal scorer (season and career) at Wittenberg. He is President of the Charleston Hurricanes Mens team and a key contributor to the growth of youth lacrosse in the State of South Carolina. jmayer@lowlax.com
Fern Mayer, GM
A lowcountry native from the Bluffton area, Fern never attended school, but is still very well behaved and versed in entertainment of store visitors. Fern is a master at snatching PB&J sandwiches when left unattended, but prefers to simply rest on used and smelly lacrosse jerseys when not managing the store.
She is yet to learn the email system, but can be reached by visiting LowLax.
David Aherne
Clinic and Camp Coach
Our newest laxmaster addition, David Aherne, grew up in Annapolis, MD and played the position of middie at Duke from ‘87-‘91. He was granted countless awards and lettered in Varsity at Duke all four years. He went on to be a graduate assistant coach for Duke’s first ever Final 4 appearance.
Advice from the pro? “Commit to a whole summer of using only your off-hand when catching, throwing. amd shooting during off-practice times....all positions and no exceptions. It will make a player more than twice as dangerous because they must be played straight up by the defender. And...play lots of pick-up basketball.”


Alex Cost
A Syracuse, NY native, Alex is a graduate of West Genesee High School and a member of the 2002 New York State/National Champion Lacrosse team. Alex played is collegiate lacrosse at DIII Cazenovia College. He was a 3 Year Team Captain, 2 Time MVP, 2005 Male Athlete of the Year and led the Nation in Scoring in 2005 in all divisions. Alex was induction to the Cazenovia College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.
Justin Smith

2010: played in all 12 games for the Cannons...was fourth on the team with 19 goals....fifth on the team with 23 points....had 2 game winning goals....collected 12 ground balls. 2008 (Philadelphia): Played in 10 games for the Barrage...Scored 14 goals and recorded 4 assists for 18 points...Collected 7 ground balls and tallied a game-winning-goal. 2007 (Philadelphia): Played in 11 games for the Barrage...scored 14 goals and recorded 5 assists for 19 points...Collected 16 ground balls...Helped the Barrage win back-to-back MLL Championships. 2006 (Philadelphia): Played in all 12 games for the Barrage...scored 21 goals and recorded 8 assists for 29 points...Collected 16 ground balls...Tallied 3 Power Play goals and a game-winning-goal...Helped the Barrage win the MLL Championship. 2005 (Rochester): MLL Rookie season...Played in 2 games for the Rattlers...scored 3 goals for 3 points.

Tim Fallon

As a Senior (2011): One of four captains for the 2011 season.
As a Junior (2010): Tabbed a Division I Honorable Mention All-American … named a Division I LaxPower All-American as the face-off specialist … named to the America East All-Conference First Team as a face-off specialist … one of five players to start and play all 14 games … finished with three goals and four assists for seven points … netted his first collegiate hat trick against Binghamton … also picked up a career-high 16 ground balls and won 22 of 28 face-offs against Binghamton … scooped up a team-best 131 ground balls, breaking the program’s all-time single season record … led the country in ground balls (9.36 per game) … went 207-for-333 at the face-off X … led the country in face-off percentage (.622) … an America East Academic Honor Roll selection.
As a Sophomore (2009): Named to the America East All-Conference Second Team as a face-off specialist ... played in all 13 games while making 11 starts ... finished with three goals and three assists for six points ... scored a pair of goals against Sacred Heart ... ranked second on the team and third in the conference with 72 ground balls ... ranked 18th in the country in ground balls per game ... scooped up 11 ground balls against Presbyterian and won 16 of 21 face-offs ... went 114-for-243 (.469) in the face-off circle ... an America East Academic Honor Roll selection.

Before Hartford: A three-year varsity letterwinner in lacrosse at Lawrence Academy ... named to the All-ISL Team his senior year ... led the team in scoring as a junior and played in the New England Prep School East-West All-Star Game.
Brian Tilley
Assistant Coach
D1 Hartford Hawks
Brian Tilley enters his second season as an assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Hartford.
Tilley’s responsibilities include serveing as the Hawks’ offensive coordinator and goalie coach. He also assists with the program’s recruiting. Tilley reunites with both a program and coach with which he is very familiar. A graduate of Hartford in 2008, he played for the Hawks from 2005-08 and spent three seasons under Lawrence’s tutelage.
“It is nice to add an alumnus to staff who has so much pride, as well as a desire to help restore the tradition here at Hartford,” said Lawrence at the time of his hire. “Brian has great character, values, and a tireless work ethic which will transfer to our players."
Tilley, who graduated with a degree in entrepreneurial studies, began his coaching career as an assistant at Oneonta State. While with the Red Dragons, he served as the offensive coordinator and piloted the team’s recruiting efforts. The Red Dragons finished the 2009 season with a 6-10 overall mark and 2-5 in the SUNYAC.
As a midfielder at the University of Hartford, Tilley was a four-year letterwinner, playing in 57 games. At the end of his senior season, he was deemed the team’s most valuable player and was selected to play in the Turfer Senior East/West All-Star Game. In the America East Conference goal scoring rankings in 2008, Tilley ranked second in scoring among midfielders and eighth overall. At the end of his freshman year, he was selected to the America East All-Rookie Team.
Prior to attending Hartford, the Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y. native played lacrosse at St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, N.Y. During his tenure at St. Anthony's he helped lead his team to three N.S.C.H.S.A.A. league championships. As a senior he earned the lacrosse sportsmanship award.
Jovan Miller
Division 1, Syracuse Univ.
Position: Midfield
Named to the 2011 Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Second Team.
Junior Year (2010): Named to the USILA All-America Third Team … All-BIG EAST First Team selection … Started all 15 games as a member of SU’s first midfield … Also one of the team’s primary short-stick defensive midfielders … Scored 21 points (15g, 6a) … Tallied at least one point in 12 of the team’s 15 games and registered eight multi-point games … Four two-goal games … Second on the team with 48 ground balls … Contributed to an SU defensive unit that led the nation in scoring defense (7.4 goals per game) ... Had a goal and an assist in his first career start versus Denver … Tied his personal best with three points, including two goals, against Albany … Against Army in the regular season, Miller recovered a career-best nine ground balls … Set a personal best with four caused turnovers against Georgetown.
Sophomore Year (2009): Played in all 18 games as a shortstick defensive midfielder … Two goals, six assists … Picked up 28 ground balls and was 1-for-6 on faceoffs … Part of an SU defense that ranked fourth nationally in scoring defense (7.39 goals per game) … Picked up a season-best five ground balls in the NCAA semifinal win against Duke … Season-best two points (1g, 1a) against Cornell in the regular season … Had a goal versus Colgate … Also passed out assists in wins against Providence, at Georgetown, at Loyola, versus Siena in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and against Cornell in the NCAA title game.
Freshman Year (2008): Saw action in 17 games … Had four goals and six assists … Collected 17 ground balls and was 6-for-10 (.600) on faceoffs … Recorded a career-best three points on one goal and a personal-high two assists against Loyola … Recorded his first two career goals during the team’s regular-season win at Johns Hopkins … Earned his first career point by assisting on the game-winning goal against Army … Had a goal and an assist at Cornell … Also registered assists at Rutgers and versus Massachusetts … Won 3-of-6 (.500) draws at Colgate … Scooped up four ground balls and went 3-for-4 (.750) at the faceoff X against Canisius (NCAA) … Collected at least two ground balls in five outings.
High School: Led the CBA Brothers to a 40-6 record in his two seasons and two Section III Class C titles … Tallied 42 goals, 17 assists and 110 ground balls as a senior … Finished his career with 80 goals, 34 assists and 200 ground balls … 2007 Under Armour All-American … Two-time All-CNY choice, including second-team honors in 2007 … 2007 Division III First Team selection … Two-time all-city … Member of the Central team that competed at the 2006 Empire State Games ... Will Callegari
U15B Top Left Loggerhead Coach
A Cypress, TX native, Will is a graduate of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and will soon be joining the long grey line as an alumnus of The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. While at Strake Jesuit, Will earned three varsity letters as both a Defensemen and LSM for the Crusaders and helped lead his team to three consecutive playoff appearances. Upon entering college, he attended LSU and was named a starter as a true freshman for the Tigers. After transferring to The Citadel, Will served as the Defensive Team Captain during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons despite suffering a career ending injury in the fall of his junior year. In addition to his duties as a Team Captain, he is also currently serving as The Citadel’s Defensive Coordinator as has been instrumental in the growth of the Bulldog’s fledgling program. As a Junior (2010): Named to the America East All-Conference Second Team as a defender … started and played in 10 games before suffering a season-ending injury … picked up 27 ground balls and caused 14 turnovers … had ground balls against Delaware and forced a pair of turnovers … caused a career-high four turnovers against Albany.
As a Sophomore (2009): Named to the America East All-Conference Second Team as a defender ... one of five players to start and play all 13 games ... scored his first career goal at Albany ... led the team and ranked second in the America East with 74 ground balls ... ranked 16th in the country in ground balls per game ... scooped up a career-high 10 ground balls at Albany ... went 2-for-9 (.222) at the face-off X.
As a Freshman (2008): One of three players to start and play all 13 games ... recorded his only point of the season on an assist against Holy Cross ... went 4-for-12 (.333) in the face-off circle ... scooped up 41 ground balls, third most on the team ... had a season-high seven ground balls at Yale.
Before Hartford: One of 75 players selected by US Lacrosse to participate in the 2007 National High School Senior Showcase on June 22-24 in Denver, Co. ... played four years of lacrosse and football at Corning-Painted Post East High School ... a first team selection for lacrosse ... an all-state linebacker in football and led his squad to a state championship.

Michael Bronco
Top Left Agility Coach
Michael Bronco began his fitness career at age nineteen by cleaning exercise equipment at a health club, while attending Kean College of New Jersey, where he studied Physical Education. He later transferred to Colorado State University to study Exercise and Sports Science, and earned his pro card in triathlon shortly thereafter.
He competed in the Hawaii Ironman four times (twice as a pro), and was a two-time N.J. State Triathlon Champion. In 1990, Michael set several triathlon course records and earned a spot on the Duathlon Team U.S.A.
In 1992, Michael decided that his genetics were better suited to coaching than to racing full-time (wise choice), so he created the personal training services at three health clubs, where he managed over twenty employees and oversaw the fitness programming for hundreds of clients. Following five years of service in the health club industry, and as an advisor to The Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in Newark, N.J., Michael opened his own private training studio, simply named ‘Bronco’s Gym’. It is here that Michael and his staff have trained some of the world’s most successful executives, entrepreneurs, actors, athletes, and many others.

Kari Moss
Girls' Lacrosse Specialist
Kari Moss is now in her third year as the director of lacrosse in Mount Pleasant Recreation. Before her series here, Kari was the Associate Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Cincinnati where she started the program to compete in the Big East Conference in 2009 & 2008 seasons. Before UC she was an assistant coach at Towson in Baltimore Maryland 2007 &2006 where they were CAA conference runners up both years, and in 2005 she was the Head Lacrosse Coach at Bridgewater College in Virginia. Moss played at James Madison University and was part of the NCAA Final Four team in 2000, debuted again in 2003 and 2004 in the Elite 8, the team also held four CAA conference championships, and was a 4 year Athletic/Academic Honors Award Winner.

Neal Olford
U13 Loggerhead Coach
Neal Oldford was born in Syracuse, NY and grew up in Stamford, CT. His initial lacrosse experience was at St. Luke’s school in New Canaan, CT where he player defense and was All Westchester-Fairfield County four years running.
He was recruited by several D-III colleges including Roanoke, Kenyon and Dickenson finally choosing to attend Washington College in Chestertown, MD.
He has continued his connection to the game coaching youth lacrosse with both Mount Pleasant Recreation Department and Top Left. Neal is a US Lacrosse Level 2 Certified Coach.
